Why a Tullip?
We place flowers at the scenes of tragedy, as a symbol of regrowth and beauty, an attempt to dampen the pain of loss. I haphazardly picked the Tulip as a symbol, not realising its significance till later.
At age 26, I underwent hormone treatments and two days before my 31st birthday, I had my genitals removed. At age 35, I stopped identifying under my trans name, and have since been on a journey to reclaim what’s left.
I, like many others are in a state of recovery, and I’m here to document it.
